On October 31, 2017 the merger of Braintree Cooperative Bank and South Shore Bank was finalized. And on February 20, 2018, we’ll be taking the final step, combining the best of two great banks and making them even better. We know you’ll be as excited about our combined future as we are.

When can I begin using both Banks’ branches and ATMs?

On February 20, 2018, clients can begin using all South Shore Bank branches. Clients may currently use South Shore Bank ATMs without incurring surcharges or foreign fees.

Will the name of the bank change?  When?

At the time of systems conversion on February 20, 2018, the combined bank will be South Shore Bank. While the name will change at this time, the strong history of Braintree Cooperative Bank will be preserved with signage at each location.

How do I login to Online Banking the first time?

Current Braintree Cooperative clients will access their accounts through the South Shore Bank Online & Mobile Banking systems beginning February 20th at 7:00 am.

To access your account the first time, simply follow the steps below (click here for a printable version of these instructions):

Step 1: Visit and click the GREEN “Access My Account” button located in the main navigation menu

Step 2: To login, click the ORANGE Consumer Online Banking Login button.
NOTE: All current Braintree Cooperative Online Banking clients will be migrated to the Consumer Online Banking platform at the time of the conversion. Business clients will move to the Business Online Banking system at a later date.

Step 3: Login using your existing Braintree Cooperative User ID and Password. You will be prompted to change your password after your initial login.

Step 4: Change your Password as directed.

Step 5: Accept the terms and conditions, and establish new challenge questions.

Step 6: Once you login, you will need to set up your eStatement access in the South Shore Bank system as it will not carry over in the conversion.

NOTE: Before using the South Shore Bank Mobile App, you must login to Online Banking to reset your challenge questions noted above.

What will happen to current employees because of this merger?

The success of this merger depends on the employees of both institutions and all current employees of South Shore Bank and Braintree Cooperative Bank will continue to have a job following the merger.
